Community
Community
Gelliondale Wind Farm is committed to engaging respectfully with the community, to being sensitive to environmental and cultural values and to making a positive contribution to the community in which we operate.
Community members and other stakeholders are invited to engage directly with the project team — either face-to-face, over the phone or via correspondence.
Information centre
In November 2022, Gelliondale Wind Farm opened an information centre in Yarram at 310 Commercial Road to exhibit information and further facilitate community feedback.
The information centre has hosted public information sessions featuring external consultants and sector experts.
These have included a ‘noise information session’ with an acoustics expert and a ‘flora and fauna information session’ with an ecological assessment expert.
Representatives of the Gelliondale Wind Farm team are at the information centre on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month from 1pm to 6pm to discuss the project and respond to questions.
Team members are also available by appointment at a time and place that is convenient.
Community members and other stakeholders can contact the project team via phone on 1800 931 871 and email at contact@gelliondalewind.com
Community Benefit Program
Gelliondale Wind Farm is committed to sharing the benefits of the project with the community.
It will distribute up to $240,000 each year through a Community Benefit Program.
The project team continues to seek feedback on the development of the Community Benefit Program and invites suggestions from community members.
Local employment
Local jobs will be created through the project — about 50 during construction and 10 ongoing positions. Local suppliers will also be utilised wherever practicable.

Community surveys
Responses to a community survey undertaken early in 2023 showed that developing local industry and employment is a “high priority” for 65 per cent of local residents.
Other significant priorities include upgrade of local infrastructure and support for environmental programs.
Gelliondale Wind Farm will continue to conduct community surveys as required and these will help shape its responses to community issues and priorities.
